　　Select courses 選課

　　1、I have made up my mind what courses I amtaking.

　　我已經決定選什麼課了。

　　make up my mind 決定做某事，可以跟從句，也可以跟動詞不定式。

　　E.g.：I have made up my mind to get the first prizeof the marathon competition.

　　我已經下定決心要贏得這次馬拉松比賽的第一名。

　　2、most of the students are still shoppingaround, looking at various courses.

　　部分學生還在觀望，先了解一下各門課的情況。

　　shopping around:觀望 此外還有逛商店的意思

　　Some housewives make a habit of shopping around to get the best buy.

　　購物時貨比三家，是家庭主婦的好習慣。

　　3、well, I have put off doing my science requirement till now. I haven’t learned anyscience courses for three years

　　是這樣的，我已經拖了三年沒選理科課程了。

　　science 理科 liberal arts： 文科 college of arts文學院

　　4、because you are major in MBA. I figure that you know more about the MBA

　　因為你主修MBA.我想你對MBA的課都比較熟悉。

　　major in 修……專業 專攻…… major in computer 主修計算機課程

　　figure 數字 體型 這裡是“認為”接近於think

　　5、I took that class last year but I flunked it, so this year I have to take it again

　　我去年修了這門課，但是考試沒通過，所以今年我還得再修一年。

　　flunk 不及格，掛科 也可以說 fail a class/course

　　retake:重修

　　I failed this class last semester, so I have to retake it.

　　我上學期沒通過這門課的考試，我要重修這門課

　　6、There are final exams and the students, if they pass, are given three full credits forthese subjects

　　期末會有考試，如果學生通過了考試，他們會得到三門課的全部的學分

　　Credit：學分 two-credit course 兩學分的課程

　　Credit system：學分制

　　選課：Select the courses/take the courses

　　Now we have to select our classes through the internet within the first two weeks

　　現在我們必須在開學的前兩週內在網上選課

　　3、I don’t like my English teacher, so I am going to drop his class.

　　我不喜歡我的英語老師，我要退選他的課

　　退選….課：drop class

　　Do you know what the deadline for adding or dropping a class is?

　　你知道加選或退選課程截止到哪一天嗎?

　　4、When students enter the university, they must take many subjects, includingcompulsory courses and elective courses.

　　學生進入大學後需要學很多門課，這其中包括必修課和選修課

　　選修課：elective courses 必修課compulsory courses

　　5、Excuse me, can you tell me which desk is for the freshman’s registration?

　　打擾了，我想問一下大一新生註冊的地方在哪裡?

　　freshman 大一 sophomore 大二 junior 大三 senior 大四

　　When I was a sophomore, I took part in the secretary department of student union.

　　我在大二的時候參加了校學生會的祕書部。

　　6、The dean of our department give a enthusiastic speech at the school-openingceremony.

　　我們的系主任在開學典禮上做了一個富有激情的演講。

　　dean ：系主任 eg：dean of College 學院院長

　　school-opening ceremony:開學典禮award ceremony 頒獎典禮

　　7、 All us students are up in arms at the news the school is raising our tuition tenpercent

　　當聽到學校要增加我們百分之十的學費這個訊息時，所有的學生都非常憤怒。

　　tuition ：學費 tuition fee pay for your tuition支付學費

　　up in arms 很憤怒 at the news 聽到這個訊息

　　8、I want to further my studies. I would appreciate it if you could send me atranscript

　　現我準備繼續深造，敬請郵寄一份我在校時學習成績單。
