越南（越南語：Cộng hòa Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam，英語：The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam），全稱“越南社會主義共和國”，是亞洲的一個社會主義國家。位於東南亞的中南半島東部，北與中國廣西、雲南接壤，西與寮國、柬埔寨交界，國土狹長，面積約33萬平方公里，緊鄰中國南海，海岸線長3260多公里，是以京族為主體的多民族國家。 越南國名來源於中國清代嘉慶皇帝。歷史上，越南北部長期為中國領土，968年脫離中國獨立建國。之後歷經多個封建王朝並不斷向南擴張，但均為中國藩屬國。19世紀中葉後逐漸淪為法國殖民地。1945年八月革命以後，胡志明宣佈成立越南民主共和國，1976年改名越南社會主義共和國。1986年開始施行革新開放，2001年越共九大確定建立社會主義市場經濟體制。 越南是東南亞國家聯盟成員之一，也是發展中國家。革新開放以來，越南經濟保持較快增長，經濟總量不斷擴大，三產結構趨向協調，對外開放水平不斷提高，基本形成了以國有經濟為主導、多種經濟成分共同發展的格局。
